Holy Manasarovar (MAPUM TSO)

It is the divine lake of Gods which was created by Brahma in his mind. It is the lake of compassion,
tranquility and bliss. Each hour on the banks of this lake unfold a new sight, a new spectre. At every hour, the colour of the lake changes, from gold to silver, blue, green, orange, red and more.

Many people have witnessed a beam of light from the lake kissing the sky. The lake is full of fish
and swans. The Manasarover's holy bath is intimately connected with Kailash Parvat. It is believed
that through their combination, creation comes forth. Pilgrims conduct puja and take holy dip.
The
water of the lake is pure and excellent and is considerd as the Holiest of all waters. The parikarama
of this lake can be done by jeep, which takes approximate 3 hrs. During the parikrama, one has to
cross a number of rivers and streams that submerge into Manasarover. The lake has got turquoise complexion some of the lake borders are slushy. The drive will take you to Ganga Chu (river flowing into Rakshas*** Taal from Mansarover). This area is famous for its gold mines. But, this stream was last seen in 1996 only. The drive around the lake is pleasant and with the clear weather. It provides the grand view of Holy Manasarover and Gurla Mandhata.
